Agnes McAlpine, the oldest living woman in Scotland, passed away in Edinburgh on 19 November, at the age of 109 years, 263 days.

Agnes Jessie McAlpine (née Lynch) was born on 1 March 1916. She was married twice—first to Andrew Wilson and later to Eddie McAlpine. She had three children: Anne, Joyce, and Agnes, whom she outlived.

According to the website Oldest In Britain, the oldest living person in Scotland is Hugh Kerr of Paisley, who turned 110 in October.
