Anna Wagner, a resident of Euratsfeld, Austria, and the nation’s oldest resident, recently celebrated her 111th birthday, according to NÖN.at.

Wagner was born in Euratsfeld on 6 June 1914, but her birthday was only celebrated recently. In her youth, she ran a small farm with four cows and a few pigs. She attended Euratsfeld Elementary School for eight years. Since no secondary school existed at the time, she continued her education at the Home Economics School in Amstetten after finishing elementary school.

When her mother died at the age of 19, Wagner took responsibility for caring for her ten-year-old sister and helped her father run the family business. Later, she married and had at least one daughter, Margarete Rechberger. At 90, she flew on a plane for the first time in her life, traveling to Lourdes, France.

On 17 January 2025, following the passing of 113-year-old Margarete Tröstl, she became the oldest living person in Austria.

LongeviQuest extends warm congratulations to Anna Wagner on her 111th birthday.
