Maria Carmela Ricci, the third-oldest living person in Italy, is celebrating her 113th birthday today in Novara. She is the oldest living person in the region of Piedmont. Her birthday was first reported by NovaraToday.
Ricci was born in San Bartolomeo in Galdo, Campania, Italy, on 16 April 1912. She left her birthplace at a very young age.
On 14 November 2021, following the death of 109-year-old Gaudenzio Nobili, she became the oldest known living person in Piedmont. At the moment, she is the third-oldest living person in Italy, after Lucia Laura Sangenito (114) from Campania, and Francesca Fioriglio (113) from Sicily.
