Lillian Farkas was a validated American supercentenarian born on 3 December 1894 in Cleveland, Ohio.
At the age of 5, she was placed into the Jewish Orphan Home in Cleveland along with her sisters. There, she worked in the kitchen, dormitory, and laundry, where she swept, scrubbed, washed, and ironed.
At the age of 36, she married Sanford Farkas, who was a newly hired manager at the movie theater where she worked as a stenographer in the upstairs office. He was ten years younger than she was. Shortly after they met, he proposed. The couple had two sons together.
She attributed her longevity to avoiding smoking, drinking, and eating sweets.
Farkas passed away on 1 February 2006 in Corvallis, Oregon, USA.
