Gertrud Groß was a validated German supercentenarian known as the second-oldest living person in the state of Thuringia.
Gertrud Groß (Gross) was born on 4 October 1907 in Barsinghausen, near Hanover, Lower Saxony, Germany.
At the age of 17, she moved to Erfurt, Thuringia to assist with her aunt’s candy stand.
She married Kurt Groß in December 1937 and the couple had two daughters and a son together.

At the age of 106, Groß suffered a fall but had recovered by the time of her 107th birthday. She was cared for in her apartment by her then-65-year-old daughter, Ursel.
Mrs. Groß passed away on 4 March 2018 in Erfurt, Thuringia, Germany.
