LongeviQuest is pleased to announce the age validation of Emi Matsuda at age 110. She was a Japanese supercentenarian reported to be briefly the oldest living person in Iwate Prefecture.

Emi Matsuda was born on 2 March 1913 in Waga (which is now part of Kitakami), Iwate Prefecture, Japan.

At age 27, she married her husband and had five children with him. While raising her children, Emi engaged in farming and factory work simultaneously until she reached 80 years old.

Emi started to attend a nursing home back in 2004 and then permanently relocated there in the spring of 2022. She was able to pursue her sewing and reading hobbies while staying at the nursing home. On 2 March 2023, she celebrated her 110th birthday at the nursing home with her four children and extended family members.

Emi Matsuda passed away on 28 August 2023 in Kitakami, Iwate Prefecture, Japan. At the time of her death, she was 110 years and 179 days old, and the oldest living person in the prefecture.
