Meredith was born on 13 November 1909, in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, USA. She was the eldest child out of 11 children of her parents, David H. Meredith and Minnie V. Hampton.

In 1930, she graduated from Tyrone Area High School. Right after her graduation, she worked at Wilson Chemical Company for 10 years. Next, she moved to work at Reliance Manufacturing Company for 9 years. Lastly, she worked as an inspector for 20 years at the Chicago Rivet and Machine Company. This was where she retired right after.
Helen Meredith passed away on 21 March 2020, in Tyrone, Pennsylvania, USA, at the age of 110 years old.
