BIOGRAPHY

Tinas was born in Le Lamentin, Martinique, France, on 17 March 1914. She gave birth to 9 children. She worked as a farmer in the cane fields.

At the age of 108, she was reportedly still able to occasionally make her own bed when she chose to stand up, though she spent most of her time in a wheelchair. She could eat independently, remained lucid, and did not suffer from any serious illnesses, aside from diabetes she had been managing for several years. According to her daughter, she had never been hospitalized by that time, did not require glasses, and had good hearing.

At the age of 110, seven of her children were still alive, and she had over 200 living descendants, reportedly including a great-great-great-great-granddaughter, which made her one of only several recorded people to have six generations of descendants while still alive. Her favorite dish is pork stew.
