BIOGRAPHY

Modesta Rodriguez Carrasquillo was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico, on 16 June 1890. She was one of eleven siblings born to parents Estanislao Rodriguez Rivera – a powerful landowner in Carolina – and Segunda Carrasquillo Forty. For her career, she worked as a seamstress, and would became recognized in her community for her skills at sewing.

She married Genaro Castro Rodriguez in Trujillo Bajo, Carolina, Puerto Rico on 30 June 1910, and the couple would go on to have eleven children together; of these eleven, only four were still alive at the time of her 110th birthday in 2000. The pair would remain married for 58 years until Genaro’s death in 1968.

At the time of her 110th birthday in 2000, she had 36 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, 35 great-great grandchildren, and two great-great-great grandchildren.

Modesta Rodriguez Carrasquillo passed away in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico on 12 January 2003 at the age of 112 years, 210 days.

RECOGNITION

Her age was verified by James Roberts, and validated by LAS on 15 October 2021. These findings were later recognized by LongeviQuest.
