Provost moved to central Greenwich in 1951, and remembered the construction of I-95 through Bruce Park. Her occupations included a phone company operator, a waitress, and a switchboard operator for Empire Brush Works. Later, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels, as well as at Nathaniel Witherell, a Greenwich nursing home.

In 1971, Provost’s mother died aged 98. On 8 April 1972, aged 60, she married Joseph S Provost. Her father died aged 103 in 1984. Shortly before her 103rd birthday, a bench was installed in local Pemberwick Park in honour of her and her two sisters.

Recognition

An article was written about Provost and her two sisters, Grace and Millie, on her 103rd birthday when she was shown the bench that had been made for them. Her 110th birthday was recognised by Fred Camillo, First Selectman for Greenwich, Connecticut, on his Twitter account. The TODAY Show also noted her 110th birthday.

Provost became the oldest known living person in Connecticut following the death of 110-year-old Antoinette Davis on Christmas Day 2021. She would reach supercentenarian status a little over three weeks later.
