BIOGRAPHY

Laurina Farnetani Galvani was born in São João da Boa Vista, São Paulo, Brazil, on 7 January 1913. Her parents were Italian immigrants.

At some point in her life, she married Rodolpho Galvani, with whom she had four children: Lizeti, Rodolfo, Ronaldo and Roberto.

In 2003, her children and founding partners created the Lina Galvani Institute, a Civil Society dedicated to support initiatives that favor community development. At the age of 100, she had 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. At the time, she was still able to do household chores and participate in the solidarity works in São Paulo.

Laurina Farnetani Galvani passed away in São Paulo City, Brazil, on 17 May 2023. She was survived by her four children.
