BIOGRAPHY

Toffolo was born in Barre, Vermont, USA, on 19 October 1906, to parents Pompeo and Perina Broggini. Her parents were Italian immigrants. She had a younger sister, Elga.

In 1929, she married Egidio Toffolo in Buffalo, New York. The couple had two sons: Ronald and Garry. She worked as a bookkeeper in Buffalo, New York, while also owning a construction business with her husband. The couple had been married for over 40 years until he passed away in the 1980s.

Sometime as a centenarian, she moved into the Hearthside Assisted Living in Sault Ste. Marie, where she resided until her passing. When asked about the key to reaching the age of 110, she said it’s likely because she always had good food at home and was always taken care of when she was sick.

Toffolo passed away in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, USA, on 10 June 2017, at the age of 110 years, 234 days. She was survived by her two sons, four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
