BIOGRAPHY

Villa Avisencio was born in Charcas, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, on 26 August 1906. He had at least 9 siblings. Since he never went to school, he was illiterate.

He married twice and had eight children. His first wife died in 1947. He worked as a farmer for the most of his life.

In 2017, he had 50 grandchildren, an unknown amount of great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter (Ema). At the time, his daughter was alive at the age of 88. When interviewed and asked about the secret of his longevity, he replied that he didn’t know and that time just passed until it happened. In 2019, he lived with his 90-year-old eldest surviving daughter.

Villa Avisencio died in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, on 3 November 2019, at the age of 113 years, 69 days.

RECOGNITION

His age was verified by Jeffrey Xu, Stefan Maglov, Fabrizio Villatoro and Zuly Moreno, and validated by the LAS in 2019.

At the time of death, he was a candidate for the title of the world’s oldest living man.
