BIOGRAPHY

Cândida Rodrigues de Jesus was born in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on 26 January 1867. Her parents were Manoel Fernandes Martins and Maria Dionísia Rodrigues. She had 14 siblings and another 13 half-siblings on her father’s side.

Her father was a Colonel. She married Francisco Carrijo Peixoto da Cunha in 1884. One of her nieces died at the age of 108.

Cândida Rodrigues de Jesus died in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, Brazil on 12 March 1978 at the age of 111 years, 45 days.

RECOGNITION

Her age was verified by Stefan Maglov, and validated by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS) on 2 May 2022.
