BIOGRAPHY

Davis was born in Minturno, Lazio, Italy on 1 March 1911, as the second of six children born to parents Charles Mariano Anzalone and Teresina D’Amico. She had two brothers, Joseph and John, and three sisters, Mary, Rose, and Evelyn. A dedicated member of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union, she contributed to the industry by making clothing and sewing parachutes during World War II. During the Great Depression, she also helped her mother run a small sewing business.

At some point, she married Chesley Davis, and together they had two daughters, June and Patricia. At some point, she moved to Connecticut with her family, where she spent most of her life, living in Bridgeport, Southbury, and Newtown. She also lived in Ocala, Florida, for over a decade.

In her later years, she enjoyed line dancing, playing Mahjong, and traveling. Known for her sense of style and love of family, she remained active even in her later years, often seen moving around with her walker.

Davis passed away in Newtown, Connecticut, USA, on 25 December 2021, at the age of 110 years, 299 days. She was survived by her two daughters, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
