BIOGRAPHY
Zelinda Furlanetto Finotti was born in Espírito Santo do Pinhal, São Paulo, Brazil, on 19 May 1908. At some point, she married Luiz Finotti. The couple had four children. Around 1942, the family moved to Uberlândia. Her husband passed away in 1973.
By the age of 110, she was a grandmother to 17, a great-grandmother to 34, and a great-great-grandmother to 20. Her 82-year-old daughter, Luzélia Finotti, noted that while her mother no longer showed much interest in answering questions, she still listened attentively. Luzélia attributed her mother’s longevity to qualities she had always embodied: determination, courage, and hard work. Additionally, her deep care for her family played a significant role.
RECOGNITION
Her age was verified by Jeffrey Xu and announced as pending validation by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS) on 9 March 2020. The validation process was later completed by Gabriel Ainsworth, and validated by LongeviQuest on 30 September 2024.
