Victoriana Ramirez was born in Escobar, Paraguarí Department, Paraguay, on 13 January 1906 (claimed 1905). She was one of seven siblings—three brothers and four sisters. Her younger sister, Estanislada Ramírez, born on 7 May 1914, passed away in 2018 at the age of 103. The two sisters lived together in the same house for over a century.
Their father was an elderly mechanic who worked until his final days at the train station in the city of Sapucái. Victoriana raised two children, both of whom she outlived. However, she also had several grandchildren. Her younger sister Estanislada never had children and spent the last few years of her life bedridden due to a fall that caused hip problems.
At the age of 109, in January 2015, Victoriana remained lucid and cheerful, despite experiencing some hearing loss. At the time, she was cared for by her daughter-in-law, Felisa Maidana de Ramírez, who had been her caregiver for many years. Felisa explained that, in order to care for both elderly sisters, they moved them into the same house, where they could receive all the necessary support despite their limited resources.
Victoriana Ramirez passed away in Escobar, on 24 October 2016, at the age of 110 years, 285 days.
Her age was verified by Santiago García Medina, and is currently under review.
