BIOGRAPHY

Velia Rivera Clark was born in Santa Ana, Sonora, Mexico on 18 February 1916. She had Scottish ancestry on her mother’s side of the family.

In 1938, she married Héctor Dávila, and the couple would go on to have five children together. In 1957, she moved with her family to Hermosillo, Sonora, where she resides currently. Her husband passed away in 1982 at the age of 77, following 44 years of marriage. Her family attributed her longevity to good nutrition and genes.

In her younger years, one of her favorite activities was watching baseball games. When she wasn’t able to go in-person, she would watch it on television or listen to it on the radio.
