Tsuya Kameda (Japanese: 亀田つや) was a Japanese supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Tsuya Kameda was born on 24 November 1905 in Japan. She lived in Ise City, Mie Prefecture, and was blessed with children. She worked in agriculture and continued farming until she was about 70 years old. Around the age of 100, she moved into a nursing home.

Even after turning 110, Kameda maintained a strong appetite and remained in good health. However, her appetite began to decline in early May 2016, and she passed away from old age on 21 May 2016, at the age of 110 years and 179 days.

RECOGNITION

In September 2013, she was reported as the fourth oldest person in Mie Prefecture at the age of 107.

In September 2014, she was recognized as the second-oldest person in Mie Prefecture at the age of 108.

In September 2015, at the age of 109, she was officially recognized as the oldest person in Mie Prefecture.

Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 5 December 2024.
