Sote Tōshima [Japanese: 遠島そて] was Japanese supercentenarian who was the oldest living person in Ishikawa Prefecture at the time of her passing.

BIOGRAPHY

Sote Tōshima (遠島そて) was born in Japan on January 26, 1897.
At the age of 110, although her hearing had declined, she remained in good health and was able to feed herself with a spoon. She had a hearty appetite, no particular food preferences, and was known to sleep soundly at night—habits that likely contributed to her good health.

Following the death of Tei Ura of Noto on June 5, 2006, at the age of 110, Tōshima became the oldest living person in Ishikawa Prefecture.
She passed away on April 22, 2008, at the age of 111 years and 87 days. Following her passing, Hina Shikawatari of Noto became the oldest living person in Ishikawa Prefecture.
