BIOGRAPHY

Placida Maria do Livramento was born in Piauí, Brazil, on 3 October 1895 (claimed 5 October).

When asked about the secret of her longevity, she said it’s to “not rush things, not to meet death, to let things happen, not anticipate the facts or sufferings before bad things happen, and when they happen to have intelligence, to trespass them and know how to overcome them.” Her favorite food was mango.

Placida Maria do Livramento died in Barras, Piauí, Brazil on 24 October 2009 at the age of 114 years, 21 days.
