Miyo Kubota (Japanese: 窪田ミヨ) was a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Miyo Kubota (窪田ミヨ) was born in Japan on 27 August 1907.

On 27 August 2017, a celebration was held at the geriatric health services facility where Kubota resided to mark her 110th birthday. At the time, although her eyesight and hearing had declined, she was reportedly still able to read, write, and hold conversations, as well as maneuver her wheelchair independently. She also practiced calligraphy. At the age of 109, one of her works, featuring the phrase “Shikai Taihei” (四海太平, “peace throughout the world”), received an Encouragement Award at a calligraphy exhibition. In addition to her three daily meals, she was said to particularly enjoy snack Ɵme.

In September 2018, she was reported to be the third-oldest living woman in Hokkaido Prefecture. On 23 October 2018, Kubota passed away in Sapporo, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan, at the age of 111 years and 57 days. At the time of her death, she was the fifth-oldest living person in Hokkaido Prefecture, behind Masazo Nonaka, Seki Inagaki, Tari Chiba, and Fumio Rikiishi.
