Mildred Bowie (née Edwards) is an American supercentenarian.
Mildred Bowie was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, on 19 January 1916, to parents Timothy Edwards and Grace Oliver.
A lifelong educator, Bowie began her teaching career at St. Augustine Catholic School in New Roads and later retired from LaBarre Elementary School in LaBarre, Louisiana. Her teaching career spanned more than 30 years. After retiring from education, she embarked on a second career in real estate, working for 15 years with several firms, including Century 21. She had one son, Cyril Duhe II, who passed away in 2016.
In January 2016, shortly before her 100th birthday, ABC News featured Bowie in a report highlighting her continued participation in competitive bowling. She had been bowling for nearly 50 years and remained an active member of the Golden Nuggets bowling league, which she joined in 1983 and later served as its secretary.
Bowie always attributed her longevity to putting God first in her life, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, treating others as she wished to be treated, and surrounding herself with positive, younger people.
At the age of 110, it was reported she had nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her age has not been validated.
