BIOGRAPHY

Tada was born in Japan on 15 July 1912.

At some point, she entered a special nursing home for the elderly.

On 15 July 2022, a small celebration was held for her 110th birthday at the nursing home, attended by staff and her close friends. She was presented with a bouquet of flowers, a photo album, and a cake featuring her face. Despite comically remarking, “I have some reservations about eating my own face,” she ate the entire cake. When asked about the secret to her longevity, she said, “Not to worry too much about other people and to live freely.” The nursing home staff mentioned that her smile never failed to uplift their spirits.

Tada passed away in Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture, Japan, on 8 October 2022.

RECOGNITION

At the time of death, she was the oldest living person in Okayama Prefecture, and following her death, Hanayo Hashimoto succeeded her.

Tada was the last surviving resident of Okayama Prefecture who was born in the Meiji Era.

Her age was verified by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW), as well as Yu Li and Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 16 November 2023.
