BIOGRAPHY

Maude Buckley was born in Elwood, Indiana, USA on 8 February 1899. She graduated from Elwood High School in 1917, and later attended the University of Chicago. From 1920 to 1922, she was the city librarian in Elwood. In the mid 1920s, she married L. Mortimer Buckley. The couple would remain together for 56 years until Mortimer’s death in 1982.
