Mary Marino was born in Paterson, New Jersey, USA, on 17 November 1906, to parents Guiseppe Pacelli and Giuseppina Sparano. She grew up in New Jersey with two siblings, both of whom passed away at a young age. In her early years, she worked in the laundry business.
On 14 June 1942, at 35, she married Daniel Marino in West Paterson, New Jersey. After marrying, she moved to Michigan, just before her husband joined the Army and served in World War II. The couple had two children, Daniel T. Marino and Diane Bryant. Her husband passed away on 21 September 2007. A proud Italian homemaker with a passion for cooking, Mary cherished dancing, family gatherings, and attending church every Sunday. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic Church until its closing, after which she joined St. Michael the Archangel Parish.
Even at 110, she remained deeply devoted to her faith, receiving Communion every Tuesday and praying the rosary daily. A crucifix hung over her bed as a constant symbol of her beliefs. She also found joy in reading magazines, listening to big band music, and watching Dancing with the Stars. Despite being in a wheelchair, she often exercised and would even do a little dance. She credited her longevity to embracing life to the fullest, enjoying a diet rich in homemade Italian cuisine, maintaining a strong faith in Jesus, and possessing a vibrant sense of humor.
Mary Marino passed away in Monroe, Michigan, USA, on 28 January 2017, at the age of 110 years, 72 days. She was survived by her two children, eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her age was verified by Eli Logan, and validated by LongeviQuest on 21 February 2025.
