Maria Simonis, also known as Sister Antonetta, was a Dutch nun and a supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Maria Simonis was born in the Hague, South Holland, on 5 January 1909. She was the eight of 11 children born to Johannes Petrus Martinus Simonis (1872–1954) and Hendrika Theodora Jacoba Rutten (1872–1966).

Maria Simonis passed away in the Hague, on 3 January 2020, two days shy of her 111th birthday.

RECOGNITION

At the time of her passing, she was the second-oldest living person in the Netherlands, after Anne Brasz-Later.
