Hurenkamp-Bosgoed was born in Terwolde, Gelderland, the Netherlands on 5 January 1870. Her parents were Harmannus Bosgoed and Elisabeth Simons, the former of whom lived to be 101 and the oldest living man in Gelderland. She married Evert Gerardus Hurenkamp in Voorst, Gelderland on 9 February 1907.
On 9 January 1978, Hurenkamp-Bosgoed became the Netherlands’ oldest resident following the death of 108-year-old Cornelia la Fors-van Geel. She surpassed the age of Christina Karnebeek-Backs on 11 January 1980 to become the oldest Dutch woman ever. Five days before her death, she broke the 81-year record of Geert Boomgaard and became the oldest person in the history of the Netherlands.
Hurenkamp-Bosgoed died on 25 May 1980 at the age of 110 years, 141 days. Upon her death, 109-year-old Wilhelmina Cammel became the Netherlands’ oldest living person. Her Dutch longevity record was broken in June 1983 by Petronella Ribbens-Verstallen, and her Gelderland longevity record was broken in March 1987 by Christina van Druten-Hoogakker.
Hurenkamp-Bosgoed was photographed by the press at the age of 110. She was also recognised by Guinness World Records as the oldest person ever from the Netherlands.
