Luz García was an Ecuadorian supercentenarian who was one of the country’s oldest living residents at the time of her death.

BIOGRAPHY

Luz García was born in Ecuador on 28 October 1914. Luz was a deeply devoted woman to the Lord of Miracles, a committed member of the Franciscan Order, and a faithful believer in Our Lady of Sorrows.

At some point, she married a man with the surname Orbe, and together they had at least four children: Jovita, Nancy, Luis, and René.

Luz García passed away in Tumbaco, Pichincha Province, Ecuador, on 24 May 2025, at the age of 110.
