BIOGRAPHY

Jeanne David was born in the cummune of Montmerle-sur-Saône in Ain department, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France, on 25 February 1910. She was raised by her mother and received a strict education. An example she mentioned was that before and after each meal, she had to wash her hands at the sink, as her mother placed a strong emphasis on hygiene.

After moving to Paris for work, she met and married an SNCF (railway company) inspector in 1941. In 1951, the couple moved to Remouillé.

In 1993, following her husband’s passing, she moved to Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire when a nursing home opened there. She spent the rest of her life in the nursing home. On her 110th birthday, she received flowers, a watch, makeup, and perfume, celebrating with gratitude and champagne.

Jeanne David passed away in Saint-Sébastien-sur-Loire, on 28 August 2020.

Her age was validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation on 13 May 2024, but it has yet to be recognized by LongeviQuest.
