She had at least four siblings: Albert Duhon (1874–1962), Melanie Meaux (1876–1939), Placide C. Duhon (1878–1970), and Cecile Trahan (1882–1972). At some point, she married Joseph P. On her 106th birthday in 1986, State Senator Cecil Picard visited her, presenting her with a bouquet of roses and a commendation from the Louisiana Senate. On her 110th birthday, she was honored on CBS’s Good Morning America. By the time of her passing, however, she was a resident of Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Kaplan.

Two of her sisters lived to be 90, and her daughter passed away at 94. Her distant cousin, Anala Hebert (1910–2020), lived to be 110 years, 110 days old. Their shared ancestor was Jean Baptiste Duon dit Lyonnaise (1684–1746).
