Helene Wiskandt (née Rade) is a German supercentenarian.
BIOGRAPHY
Helene Wiskandt was born in Rauschen, East Prussia (now Svetlogorsk, Kaliningrad Oblast, Russia), on 15 October 1916. She was the youngest of seven children.
During the Second World War, she and her two-year-old daughter were forced to flee their homeland, while her husband never returned from the war. She lived in Geseke, North Rhine-Westphalia, for many years before moving to Nußloch at the age of 91 to be closer to her second daughter.
On her 100th birthday in 2016, she was visited by Mayor Karl Rühl, who presented her with a bouquet of flowers and a congratulatory certificate from the state of Baden-Württemberg. At the time, she had five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She had always enjoyed staying active and continued to do so well into old age. She could still take short walks when accompanied by someone, and even her terrace, which featured a beach chair, provided enough space for her to stroll around.
