BIOGRAPHY

Schulein was born in Warsaw, Indiana, USA, on 22 August 1904, to parents Silas (1865–1928) and Rachel Shane (1873–1946). Both of her parents were of German descent. She had a brother, Malcolm. She attended Milwaukee Downes Finishing School and then graduated from Ohio State University.

After graduating from Ohio State University, she taught all elementary grades in a one room school house until she met her future husband, Victor Miller Schulein, whom she married on 11 October 1929. The couple had a daughter, Joyce Dannheisser (1932–2023).

After her husband passed away in December 1997, she moved to Pensacola, Florida to live near her daughter and son-in-law.

Schulein passed away in Pensacola, Florida, USA, on 23 June 2015, at the age of 110. She was survived by her daughter and son-in-law, three grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
