Greet Hogenhout-van Kerkhof was born in Vijfhuizen, North Holland, Netherlands, on 28 August 1905.
On 25 April 1928, at the age of 22, she married Nicolaas Tobias Hogenhout (1899–1980) in Haarlemmermeer. Her husband was a cattle farmer, and they lived near Amsterdam until 1956, after which she moved to a house in Badhoevedorp. He passed away in 1980. Together, they had six children.
In 2012, she moved into the De Meerwende care center in Badhoevedorp. She spent her days reading, knitting, and sewing. Remarkably independent, she continued to do many things herself — including washing, dressing, and even making her own bed. By the age of 107, she had nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

At the time of her passing, she was the second-oldest living person in the Netherlands, after Geertje Kuijntjes.
Hogenhout-van Kerkhof’s age was verified by Jimmy Lindberg, Marco Wikkerink, and Sipke de Boer, and was validated by the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) on 15 April 2020.
