Frances Volz was an American supercentenarian who was the second-oldest living person in the U. S. state of Minnesota at the time of her death. Her age has been validated by LongeviQuest (LQ).

BIOGRAPHY

Volz was born in Red Wing, Minnesota, USA, on 13 July 1913. As a young girl, she was inspired to play piano by her aunt Helen.

Volz played the piano and organ to accompany silent films. At some point, she moved to St. Paul to work for Northern Pacific Railroad. She started playing at Murray’s in Minneapolis, and in multiple establishments and hotels. She married Joseph J. Volz. After getting married, she moved to California, where her daughter Mary was born. Her daughter had cystic fibrosis and the family came back to Minnesota to go to the Mayo Clinic.

Frances Volz passed away in Burnsville, Minnesota, USA on 28 October 2023 at the age of 110 years, 107 days.

RECOGNITION

Volz was noted for her longevity on her 100th and 104th birthdays. Her care home has recognised each of her birthdays since 2020.

Volz is currently the second-oldest known living person in the U.S. state of Minnesota, behind Lillian Moran.
