Elisabeth Roß was born in Berlin on 23 September 1907. As a young girl, she joined a swimming club and became an avid swimmer. She maintained her passion for swimming, going for a swim every morning at seven o’clock until the age of 95.
Around the age of 80, Roß moved into assisted living at the Hildastift in Wiesbaden. She remained an active and engaged resident, serving as a member of the facility’s advisory board and co-organizing numerous trips and excursions. In her 80s, she traveled to Paris with a group of fellow residents. For her 85th birthday, Elisabeth visited a friend in South Africa. During her time there, she went swimming in the sea with friends. At one point, she slipped and fell into the water, but to everyone’s surprise, she emerged completely unharmed. Her only complaint was her wet hair. On her 100th birthday, Elisabeth celebrated in style, dancing her way around the hall.
Elisabeth thoroughly enjoyed cultural activities, including visits to the theater, concerts, and strolls through the Christmas market organized by her assisted living community. Up until her 90th birthday, she remained professionally active as an authorized officer and took every opportunity to stay fit, whether through swimming in the facility’s pool, participating in gymnastics, or attending dance classes.
Her age was verified by Georg Fürholzer, and validated by LongeviQuest on 15 December 2024.
