Corine Snow was born in Hawkins, Texas, USA, on 1 December 1904. Her parents were James Edward “Eddie” Craig (1871–1911) and Blanche Hitt (1873–1915). She had two sisters: Mamie None Patrick (1908–1962) and Cleo Stone (1910–2003).
Corine married John Louis Snow (1899–1983) on 23 July 1923, in Hawkins, Texas. A dedicated homemaker, she had a passion for sewing and often created garments for others in her community. She also enjoyed canning vegetables and fruits grown on the family farm. In her free time, Corine loved fishing, tending to her yard, and planting flowers.
On 28 October 2016, State Representative Dan Flynn honored Corine with the Yellow Rose of Texas Award, recognizing her as the oldest living woman in the state.
Corine Snow passed away in Sulphur Springs, Texas, on 5 December 2016, four days after her 112th birthday. She was survived by her daughters, Christine Morris and Fannie Brower, as well as six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 15 great great-grandchildren.
On 12 March 2015, following the passing of Lulang King, she became the oldest known living person in Texas. Upon her own passing, she was succeeded by Hazel Gates.
Snow’s age was validated by the GRG on 27 December 2015. The validation was later recognized by LongeviQuest.
