BIOGRAPHY
Chiyo Ogura (小倉千代) was born in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, on 10 November 1915. At the age of 75, she attended a folk tale listening event organized by the Kagoshima Folktale Association, where she recalled that it reminded her of the old stories she had been told around the hearth during her childhood.
At the age of 108, the nursing home where she lives in Kagoshima City released photos showing her enjoying beer with edamame as a snack.
On 10 November 2025, she celebrated her 110th birthday at a nursing home in Kagoshima City, and at that time, she was reported to be able to walk with a walker and eat meals independently.
