Catherine Lawrence, known as Sister Madeleine, was an Australian nun and supercentenarian.

BIOGRAPHY

Catherine Lawrence was born in the suburb of Notting Hill in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, on 8 December 1902, the second of seven children of Patrick and Ada Lawrence. She became a Sister of Mercy at the age of 17 and worked as a teacher and caregiver in schools and orphanages in Goulburn and the surrounding areas. She later retired to a convent in Young, New South Wales.

Catherine Lawrence passed away in Young, New South Wales, on 16 June 2013, at the age of 110 years, 190 days.
