BIOGRAPHY

Benvindo Ferreira de Oliveira was born in Minas Gerais, Brazil, on 10 August 1914. His parents were José Ferreira do Nascimento and Carolina Maria de Jesus. He was raised in the locality of Marinho in Monte Azul.

Benvindo Ferreira de Oliveira was married (and later widowed) twice, firstly to Juvercina Antunes do Anjos, and later to Orecina Maria de Jesus. He had 24 children in total; 12 with each wife. For many years, he lived on the farm, planted crops, and raised a few cattle, pigs, chickens, among other animals. Additionally, he owned a small bar where he frequently met with Colonel Levy Souza e Silva, who was his friend. The first time he voted, he voted for Levy Souza e Silva in Monte Azul, as he was one of the politicians at that time. For some time, he lived in the states of Paraná and São Paulo.

In his 60s or 70s, he stopped working on the farm due to old age.

At the age of 109, he has poor eyesight. However, he does not have any problems communicating with other people. As of June 2024, he has 7 living children, 47 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
