BIOGRAPHY

Beatriz de Oliveira Soares was born in Itapetininga, São Paulo, Brazil, on 20 May 1899 (claimed 21 May). She started her studies at the Praça da República school in São Paulo and trained to become a teacher in São Carlos. Her father, Mariano, was also a teacher, and a school in Pirituba was named after him.

While working as a teacher, she met João Soares Filho, whom she eventually married. The couple had four children: Glaura, Célia, Marília Siegl and Dirceu.

At the age of 110, she lived in Doze de Outubro street in São Paulo City.

Beatriz de Oliveira Soares passed away in São Paulo City, São Paulo, Brazil, on 13 December 2010, at the age of 111.

RECOGNITION

Her age was validated by Gabriel Ainsworth and Stefan Maglov, and validated by LongeviQuest on 28 July 2023. She was previously listed as a “pending validation” by the Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS) as of 5 May 2022.
