Asa Kawanishi (Japanese: 川西アサ) is a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

Asa Kawanishi (川西アサ) was born in Japan on 14 December 1915.

She married a man who worked as a furniture craftsman and raised one son and four daughters while working in traditional Japanese sewing.

At the age of 100, she was living with her family at her home in Miyoshi City, and taking a walk of more than 30 minutes each day was part of her daily routine. Around that time, she said that the secret to her longevity was eating everything without being picky, and her favorite foods included sashimi and grilled meat. It was also reported that she attended a locally held Respect for the Aged Day gathering, where she enjoyed chatting with other participants and had some alcoholic drinks.

In September 2025, Kawanishi was announced as the oldest living person in Tokushima Prefecture.

RECOGNITION

Her age was verified by Miyoshi City, Ryohei Asano, Marco Wikkerink and Yumi Yamamoto, and validated by LongeviQuest on 13 January 2026.
