BIOGRAPHY

Ariovalda Duarte de Araujo was born in Brazil on 21 June 1907. At some point, she married Oswaldo Vieira de Araújo, and the couple had nine children: Maria Terezinha, Leopoldo, João Marcelo, Vicente de Paula, Josefina, Manuel, Ary, Maria Auxiliadora, and João Bosco.

Her daughter described her as a woman of deep faith throughout her life. For ten years, she took communion daily without missing a single day. Until the age of 96, she remained active, until she suffered a fall. She loved planting, and despite the limited space, she would cut down grown plants to make room for new ones. In addition to her passion for gardening, she was also a skilled seamstress.

At the age of 110, she had 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Ariovalda Duarte de Araujo passed away in Sacramento, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on 12 March 2018, at the age of 110 years, 264 days.
