María Ángela Gómez Hernández was a Mexican semi-supercentenarian.
Gómez Hernández was born in Mexico City, Mexico, on 2 August 1910 to parents Manuel Gómez and Margarita Hernández.
In 1929, she married Luis Butrón Migoni and had two children who died young, and because of this, she divorced.
In her youth and adulthood, she worked in multiple professions and activities, including mountaineering, figure skating, basketball, and dancing, as well as teaching English and French. She volunteered in hospitals and was retired from the Ministry of Finance until her death, where she also began working during the presidency of Plutarco Elías Calles.
After retiring in 1960, she settled in Acapulco, Guerrero, a place she frequently visited and where she joined Panchito, a well-known diver from La Quebrada, with whom she lived until his death in 1989. This relationship allowed her to personally meet figures from the golden age of Mexican cinema, such as Pedro Armendáriz, Germán Valdez (Tin-Tan), María Félix, and Cantinflas, among others.
Gómez Hernández died on 13 September 2019 in Acapulco, Guerrero, Mexico, at the age of 109.
Her age was verified by Fabrizio Villatoro and Stefan Maglov, and validated by Latin American Supercentenarians (LAS) on 23 April 2021, and recognized by LongeviQuest later.
