On 30 January 1937, at the age of 26, she married José Luis Hernández del Río in Cuauhtémoc, Mexico City. The couple had at least four children: Elia Margarita, Maria de los
Angeles, Jose Luis, and Alejandro. During the 1960’s, she traveled to Texas, USA.

Her husband died on 19 December 2002, at the age of 93. Her great-grandson said that she almost never drank water, only Coca-Cola or Sidral Mundet (carbonated Mexican apple-flavored soda). He claimed how her extreme longevity was a mystery. On 31 March 2021, at the age of 110, Diaz Millan got vaccinated against COVID-19.
