Ana Dominguez was born in the Dominican Republic on 12 September 1908. She arrived in the United States in 1961 and settled in New York with her husband. She worked as a telephone operator.

In 2014, Dominguez took part in an event organized by the Bronx County Council honoring many elderly individuals, most of whom were nearing—or had already reached—the age of 100. Reflecting on her long life, she shared one of her secrets to daily fulfillment: “One of the secrets to living a full life every day is to stay joyful and dance a lot.”
