Agnes Elisabeth From Steenstrup was a Danish supercentenarian who held the title of the oldest living person in Denmark. Her age was validated in collaboration between the European Supercentenarian Organisation (ESO) and LongeviQuest.

BIOGRAPHY

From Steenstrup was born in Nexø, located on the Baltic island of Bornholm in the region of Hovedstaden. She was the daughter of Helmut Otto From Steenstrup and Johanne Kristine Madsen. She later moved to Fredensborg, Hovedstaden.

From Steenstrup died on 1 March 2014 at the age of 110 years, 97 days.

RECOGNITION

Following the 25 January 2013 death of 109-year-old Agnes Hansen, From Steenstrup became Denmark’s oldest resident. That November, she became the first person in Denmark since Karen Jespersen in 1999 to celebrate their 110th birthday. Upon her death, the oldest living person in Denmark was Marie Jensen, then aged 109.
