BIOGRAPHY
Aurora Soto Rubio was born in Medellín, Antioquia Department, Colombia, on 2 February 1903. Her father, Jesús María Soto, lived to the age of 103, while her mother, Dolores Rubio, passed away at 99. She had six daughters.
She never suffered from any chronic illnesses, retained a sharp memory, and maintained a healthy appetite until the very end of her life. Even as great-great-grandchildren were born, she remembered each of their names and exactly who their parents were. Remarkably, she was still able to walk without difficulty until the age of 110 or 111.
Aurora Soto Rubio passed away in Medellín, on 8 February 2015, six days following her 112th birthday. At the time of her passing, she had 21 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
