Kiyoko Kondō (Japanese: 近藤清子) is a Japanese supercentenarian whose age has been validated by LongeviQuest.
Kiyoko Kondō (近藤清子) was born in Hachihama Town (now part of Tamano City), Okayama Prefecture, Japan, on 1 September 1913.
At the age of 19, she married, and she and her husband both worked at Mitsui Shipbuilding. In her younger years, she practiced traditional Japanese dance.
At the age of 86, she moved into a care home. When she was 98, she transferred to a special nursing home operated by the same organization, where she has lived ever since.
At the age of 112, she continues to live a very regular daily life. She usually wakes between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. and spends the daytime in the living room with other residents without taking naps or breaks until after dinner. In the morning, she enjoys coffee time and performs standing exercises as part of her rehabilitation. In the afternoon, after snack time, she does upper body exercises every day.
Even at the age of 112, she can move around by operating her wheelchair herself and stand up from it when bathing or using the toilet. According to the nursing home staff, the key to her longevity lies in maintaining her daily routine, enjoying time with other residents, and eating well. She feels comfortable and happy spending time with others and rarely stays alone in her room. Regarding food, she prefers meat to fish and enjoys rice as her staple food, including chirashi sushi and takikomi gohan, a seasoned rice dish cooked with vegetables and other ingredients, as well as noodles. For snacks, she prefers manjū and Western-style pastries rather than cold desserts such as jelly, and she also enjoys snack foods.
She reportedly recovers quickly even when she catches a cold or influenza and has no history of chronic illness or major disease.
When she celebrated her 112th birthday on 1 September 2025, she reportedly said that she hoped to live for another two or three years.
She currently resides in Tamano City, Okayama Prefecture, Japan.
Following the passing of Yukiko Honda, aged 112, of Okayama City on 19 February 2026, Kondō became the oldest living person in Okayama Prefecture.
Her age was verified by Tamano City, Yumi Yamamoto and Ryohei Asano, and validated by LongeviQuest on 14 March 2026.
Most of the biographical information on Kiyoko Kondō was gathered through interviews conducted by LongeviQuest with the staff of her nursing home.
