Solange Demorgny, the second-oldest living person in France, is celebrating her 113th birthday today in Champagne-Mouton, Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

Demorgny was born in the commune of Turgon in the Charente department, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France, on 10 March 1913. She walked 3 kilometers to school and back every day in wooden shoes. She was awarded her certificat d’études primaires aged 12 and went on to work as a chambermaid in Charente and later Paris.

Demorgny married and had five children, all of whom she outlived.

At the moment, she is the second-oldest living person in France, after Madeleine Dellamonica.

LongeviQuest extends warm congratulations to Solange Demorgny on her 113th birthday.
